Yesterday we headed to the latest BIM Regions Sussex meetup at the Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue to give a talk on implementing and working with BIM, alongside our surveying partner Geosphere4D.

The event was put together by Brighton-based ZSTa Architects, who organise the BIM region Sussex branch and host a meetup every quarter.

We’d like to add the meetups are often held at the Brighton and Hove Progressive Synagogue — a beautiful venue and excellent example of architectural regeneration, designed by ZSTa.

Our director Phil Pinder started the meetup with a talk about how we implemented BIM into National Trust Property, Nymans, using software such as Revit and A360. There was great interest in how this could be used to enhance the visitor experience.

Following up, Ian Anderson from Geosphere4D gave a demonstration on how he scanned the heritage building, using measured building survey techniques. He also brought along his virtual reality headset, which was definitely a hit with the audience!

Many attendees expressed how they enjoyed learning more about the full “Scan to BIM” process and projects that are going on in the local area.

We’d like to thank everyone who came along yesterday and a big thanks to ZSTa, who organised the event. If you’d like to be notified about the next BIM Regions Sussex meeting, please email bimregionsussex@zsta.co.uk to be put on the list.
