2016 is almost here and now is the ideal time to start thinking about your Autodesk licenses in preparation for the upcoming license changes. We know this may be the least of your worries at the moment, but trust us it’s better to sort out any upcoming renewals and take advantage of some of the superb discounts on offer on a number of Autodesk’s most popular software before the deadline date.
Announced earlier this year, Autodesk revealed that the way customers purchase their software was about to change, and for the better! After January 31st 2016 new Perpetual licenses of most individual Autodesk software will no longer be available for purchase. But what does this mean? Perpetual licenses will be replaced by the favoured subscription option. Put simply, purchasing a subscription is very similar to a pay-as-you-go scheme which works out a lot more cost effective in the long term and gives you access to the latest software updates and improvements.
Access to the latest updates
As an Autodesk subscription customer you will gain access to the latest software releases, keeping you up-to-date. This is a great way to benefit from the latest upgrades and improvements.
Pay a lower up-front cost for your Autodesk software when purchasing a subscription.
Buying a Subscription license allows you to have technical support if you run into any problems. This is vital if you’re using Autodesk software for your job.
Collaborate in the cloud
Access work via the internet with Autodesk’s cloud service. Use the cloud to free up desktop space and share work progress with colleagues and clients and benefit from secure storage.
Purchasing a Desktop Subscription enables you to pay for your Autodesk software on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. This is ideal if you’re a small business and usage of the software varies.
Another date to be aware of is January 31st 2016, where Perpetual licenses for the Design and Creation Suites will be discontinued. For the full list please visit: http://www.autodesk.com/products/perpetual-licenses.
We understand that the different software options can often become quite confusing, therefore we have provided an updated infographic which will hopefully make this information a lot clearer. Our advice is to check when your licenses are up for renewal and contact us on either 01403 784139 or head to our contact form page. We would also advise you to take full advantage of the recent Autodesk promotions currently taking place, where you can save up to 25% on certain subscription licenses.
