From October 30th, Autodesk Desktop Subscription customers will be the first to get their hands on a multitude of new features for Autodesk Inventor 2016. These impressive new features will allow users to fasten and improve their workflow with enhanced shape generation, mechanical integration, innovative styling and more.
New Autodesk Inventor 2016 Features
Increase accuracy and reduce time with the Shape Generator, a new powerful tool developed to create flawless designs, based on the real-world conditions you define. Creating a product that can support a heavy load, but is still light enough to manoeuvre around easily? The new Shape Generator tool allows users to enter different condition types and come up with a suggested structure to withstand these elements.
Freeform is another feature Autodesk have put together to improve T-Splines technology and make it more user-friendly. The new Freeform add-on enables users to design free-form surfaces that are smooth, watertight and geometrically accurate. What more could you possibly want?
If you find it frustrating working on different CAD systems and converting over files, you’ll be pleased to know the latest Inventor features will make your life a lot easier. With the implementation of AnyCAD and DWG Underlay you can now simply reference the file in your assembly and get going. No re-linking files, translation, geometry repair is needed.
Designers who work with Printed Circuit Boards can take full advantage of the new IDF import options with the new Electro-mechanical feature within Autodesk Inventor. The add-on enables users to match IDF data with 3D component libraries and speed up workflow by filtering out unnecessary data.
If you’re familiar with the Force Effect app on the iOS and Android market you’ll know how the app introduced a fast, intuitive way to create free body diagrams. This same feature has now been added to Autodesk Inventor to help engineer’s study static loading and kinematics within their designs.
Lance Grow, director of manufacturing product design at Autodesk exclaimed in a recent press release: “We’ve designed Inventor 2016 to be the centre of an open and connected product development ecosystem that brings together data, people and processes.
“This is a truly professional-grade solution for everything from design and engineering, to manufacturing and more.”
