Westferry Printworks was constructed in 1984 and ceased operation in 2012. The former printworks, which was once the engine room for The Daily Express and The Daily Sport, was being demolished to make way for a brand new development comprising homes, offices, retail outlets, health, education, sports and recreation facilities.
Our brief was to:
- Receive and process the point cloud survey data for the site from our survey partner.
- Create a mass model comprising the large, abandoned buildings on the site, the centrepiece of which was the huge printing hall. This had already started to be demolished by the time the survey work was started.
- Create a detailed ground model of the site topography.
- Deliver a Revit *.rvt file back to the project team managing the development of the site.
